“... Even Though You’re With Another Girl” is the second single taken from Anders Trentemøller’s wonderful second studio-album “Into The Great Wide Yonder” which has just been released in June 2010. The new single with the beautiful vocals of Josephine Phillip (Darkness Falls, Ja Confetti) is released in September with remixes by Pantha Du Prince and Kollektiv Turmstrasse and alternative versions from Mikael Simpson (available on a limited edition 7-inch) and Anders Trentemøller.
The new music video for the new single “... Even Though You’re With Another Girl” is more like a surreal short story than a video. It is directed by Adam Hashemi, a Danish film director. The story is about a man who can‘t live with himself, thus destroying his own hopes of being happy. In the beginning we see him bringing his girlfriend to meet his parents. Mildly put, the man does not like being there, he feels overly claustrophobic. He has a hard time looking anyone in the eyes, even his girlriend who tries to be supportive nonetheless. From there on things take a more wacky twist, as the room gets filled with steam, and the man flies out the window. He then succumbs to the smoke and lets it take him on an adventure into a strange universe featuring women from the past. In the end, he ends up back in the house he grew up in, where he accidentally destroys the last bond between him and his girlfriend. He drifts away into unknown territory, probably the darker areas of his own mind. Based on a dream, the video ties the subconscious world with the very flat universe of social realism. In this world, there are no real rules of conduct, it is just visions that evoke emotions of something hidden deep within all of us. This can also be seen on the forever changing filmic language that starts off as being very normal (yet still timeless) and developing into a much more cinematic universe with elements of Fellini and Film Noir.
Furthermore, the “... Even Though You’re With Another Girl” follows it’s own structure which is very unlike the other songs you hear on the radio. The film bases its narration on that same structure, creating an almost operatic feel. All in all, this is an experiment in the art of video making, and it will be up to an audience to say whether it is a successful experiment or not.

N'Gola Ritmos
Liceu Vieira Dias, Domingos Van-Dúnem, Mário da Silva Araújo, Manuel dos Passos and Nino Ndongo created around 1947 the Ngola Ritmos band, in order to assert their Angolan identity. They sung kimbundu music with guitar and small percussion. In the 1950s, the band comprised Liceu, Nino, Amadeu Amorim, José Maria, Euclides Fontes Pereira, José Cordeira, Lourdes Van-Dúnem and Belita Palma. Their lamentos were inspired by the daily chronicles or funeral laments sung by bessangana women and their sembas by popular dances. Carlitos Vieira Dias once said: "The semba is an adaptation of the kazukuta rhythm. My father transposed the kimbundu rhythms for the guitar. He knew European, Portuguese and Brazilian music. He composed in the minor mode, notably the lamentos". Zé Maria quote of Liceu: ”He was a master. He was the leader of Ngola Ritmos and gave us the matrix for musical conception. His mom and mine acted as our judges. When they told us it wasn’t good enough, we had to go back and rehearse some more“. Ngola Ritmos created a style that would inspire generations of musicians. The lead guitar introduced the theme and often intervened in counterpoint to the voice. The second guitar ensured the rhythmic frame, the bass guitar (six-stringed at the time) marked the beat, almost like a percussion, while the drum and dikanza (scraped instrument) backed up the ensemble. Singing was inspired by popular traditions, the chorus answering the lead voice. While such songs as Mbiri Mbiri, Kolonial, Palamé or Muxima have been covered by numerous singers, recordings by Ngola Ritmos are very rare. Muxima and Django Ué were recorded in Luanda. Most of the members of Ngola Ritmos were nationalist militants, Liceu, a founding member of the MPLA liberation movement and Amadeu were arrested in 1959 and deported to the Tarrafal prison in Cape Verde, to return only ten years later. Nevertheless, the band lasted until the late sixties, recording the song Nzage in Lisbon. The heritage of Ngola Ritmos is not only a music genre. It is also a state of mind, an attitude [wikipedia]

Laurie Spiegel
Laurie Spiegel (born September 20, 1945 in Chicago) is an American composer. She has worked at Bell Laboratories, in computer graphics, and is known primarily for her electronic-music compositions and her algorithmic composition software Music Mouse. She also plays the guitar and lute.[1]
Spiegel, who attended Shimer College, Brooklyn College, and Oxford University, received a degree in social sciences and went on to study composition with Jacob Druckman and Vincent Persichetti at the Juilliard School. Her early musical experiences were largely self-directed, beginning with the mandolin, guitar, and banjo she had as a child, which she learned to play by ear; she taught herself Western music notation at the age of 20, after which she began writing down her compositions.
Spiegel was seen by some as a pioneer of the New York new-music scene. She withdrew from this scene in the early 1980s, believing that its focus had shifted from artistic process to product. While she continues to support herself though software development, Spiegel aims to use technology in music as a means of furthering her art rather than as an end in itself. [ Wikipedia]

Hazelmyer originally started the label to release records by his band, Halo of Flies. Eventually the label's roster expanded to include releases by Helmet, Melvins, The Cows, Helios Creed, Chokebore, Servotron and others. Hazelmyer later moved the label to Minneapolis. Today the label is used by The Melvins and H•O•F on occasion to release limited edition 7" singles.

My Friend Rain
Filmed throughout Southeast Asia by Robert Millis between 2002-2004, My Friend Rain is an abstract homage to the endless monsoon cycles of rebirth and destruction. Dreamy musical segments, fleeting glimpses, odd sounds, temple shrines, tropical backdrops, decay, death, languid afternoon rains, and mysterious celebratory events take the viewer from soaked mornings in the lowlands of the Irrawaddy delta to humid nights on the streets of Isan province. Two tracks originally released on Millis’ Leaf Music, Drunks, Distant Drums CD from 2002 can now be witnessed for the first time in this film: an amazing elephant mahout playing a song on a leaf with his mouth and a Burmese marionette orchestra musician performing expertly on tuned drums. The overall experience is an impressionistic collage of sight and sound captured live and in the moment on location in Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar. Along with the DVD which features 12 minutes of extra footage and deleted scenes, the package includes a bonus CD with the film’s soundtrack of traditional and popular music culled from live performance, cassette and LP archives. Some of the soundtrack highlights: a gorgeous Thai Luk Thung track by Waiphot Phetsuphan, a classic Khmer performance by Pan Ron, one of the Queens of Cambodian music, and an epic Burmese pop rendition of the Bee Gee’s How Do You Mend a Broken Heart, alongside folk performers, street musicians and a traditional Burmese orchestra. Robert Millis, original co-founder of both Climax Golden Twins and AFCGT, also co-produced the Victrola Favorites Book/CD project on Dust to Digital and is a frequent contributor to the Sublime Frequencies label. The group formed in 1978 under the name Kleenex, and soon made a name for themselves, until the threat of legal action by Kimberly-Clark in 1979 prompted a change of name to LiLiPUT (Kleenex being a proprietary brand of tampon in Switzerland). Their initial line-up consisted of Regula Sing (vocals), Marlene Marder (guitar), Klaudia Schiff (bass) and Lislot Ha (drums), and in the late 1970s the band recorded a number of successful singles prior to Sing's departure.
In 1982, after playing together for four years, LiLiPUT released their first self-titled full-length LP on Rough Trade.
In 1993, Swiss label Off Course Records released a 46-track double-disc CD collecting Kleenex/LiLiPUT's 1978-83 releases. In 2001 it was re-issued in the USA by the Kill Rock Stars label.
In 2010, Kill Rock Stars released a 24-track CD/DVD set "Live Recordings, TV-Clips, and Roadmovie." [Wikipedia]
